  HEIDI HUNTSMAN

Heidi Huntsman joined UV Partners in 2004 and has ten years of experience in the life sciences investment industry. Before joining UV Partners, Ms. Huntsman was Director of Research at Tenex Greenhouse Ventures, a Bay Area venture capital fund focused on early stage biotechnology and medical device companies. As an investment professional, Ms. Huntsman sourced early stage opportunities and developed a deep network of healthcare investors. She played a critical role in conducting due diligence and market research and was active in the management of portfolio companies, including Yeast Protein Sciences and NovoStent. Prior to working at Tenex Greenhouse Ventures, Ms. Huntsman worked in investment banking as an Associate Equity Analyst at NationsBanc Montgomery Securities (now Banc of America Securities), where she covered the medical device sector. Her coverage included several large cap companies such as Medtronic, Guidant, Boston Scientific, and Johnson & Johnson, and small cap companies such as Cyberonics, Arterial Vascular Engineering (AVE, acquired by Medtronic), CardioThoracic Systems (acquired by Guidant), Novoste, Computer Motion (acquired by Intuitive), and CardioGenesis (acquired by Eclipse Medical). She also managed marketing, business development, and sales operations for a San Francisco-based medical supply start-up, MedChannel.

Ms. Huntsman has ten years of experience in academic research in the fields of human genetics, neuro-psychology, and molecular biology. She did her graduate thesis work in the area of signal transduction and intracellular modifications that occur in response to growth factors and other mitogens. Ms. Huntsman holds a M.S. in Human Molecular Biology and Genetics and a B.S. in Physiological Psychology from the University of Utah.

Ms. Huntsman has either served on the board, or is an observer on the board of AngioScore and Artielle ImmunoTherapeutics. She is on the advisory boards of the Mountain West Capital Association, the Fitzsimmons BioDevelopment Institute, and the Oregon BioScience Innovation Fund. Ms. Huntsman is also active in the community.
